[ecrea] Research Fellowships at the Harry Ransom Center

The Harry Ransom Center, an internationally renowned humanities research
library and museum at The University of Texas at Austin, annually awards
over 50 fellowships to support research projects in all areas of the
humanities. Each year, the* Robert De Niro Endowed Fund*, *Warren
Skaaren Film Research Endowment*, and *Filmscript Acquisitions
Endowment* fund a number of projects focusing on the Center's film
collections.
The Center's film collections include the papers of producers *David O.
Selznick* and *Lewis Allen*, director *Nicholas Ray*, actors *Gloria
Swanson* and *Robert De Niro*, screenwriters *Ernest Lehman* and *Paul
Schrader*, acting teacher *Stella Adler*, special effects master *Norman
Dawn*, and the* Interstate Theatre Circuit*, among others. For more

The fellowships range from one to three months, with stipends of $3,000
per month. Also available are $1,200 to $1,700 travel stipends and
dissertation fellowships with a $1,500 stipend. During the fellowship,
scholars will work on-site in the Center's collections in Austin, Texas.
Austin is home to a thriving film community including the *Austin Film
Festival*, *Austin Film Society*, and the *South by Southwest Film
Conference and Festival*.
The Ransom Center is currently accepting fellowship applications for the
2014-2015 academic year. Applications must be submitted through the
Center's website by January 31, 2014, 5 p.m. CST.
The 2014-2015 academic year will mark the 25th anniversary of the Ransom
Center's fellowship program. Since the program's inauguration in 1990,
the Center has supported the research of more than 800 scholars through
fellowships.
