Financial Journalism


Professor / Associate Professor in Financial Journalism

The appointee is expected to have relevant work experience, preferably in international media institutions, and is an active researcher with demonstrated credentials.

Applicants should possess a PhD degree in journalism, communication or related fields or be PhD candidates in one of these areas. Those with experiences teaching or working as a journalist will have a definite advantage. Applicants should also have excellent communication skills and proficiency in English.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two to three years commencing September 2014. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Department will also apply for the relevant national/local "Talents Program" for the applicants if they meet the requirements.

Applicants should submit the following:
(1) a cover letter indicating interest and relevant professional and academic background, including experience working in international media institutions;
(2) an updated curriculum vitae;
(3) a statement of teaching interests/philosophy;
(4) samples of publications/creative works, preferably the best three out of their most recent publications; and
(5) names/contact information of at least three references.

All application materials, including publication samples, scholarly/creative works, will NOT be returned after the completion of the recruitment exercise.
