Lectures&  events at the new Dennis Potter archive&  Exhibition in the Forest of Dean
Marking the new Dennis Potter Archive&  Exhibition in the Forest of Dean

An academic research and Forest of Dean community event on the 29th June exploring the impact of one of the UK's most influential cultural figures.

The event marks the official opening of the new HLF funded archive of Dennis Potter's papers, and permanent public exhibition – a partnership between the University of Gloucestershire, The Dean Heritage Museum, and other local community groups.
 Guest speakers on the day  include:

·        Professor John Cook - Professor in Media, Glasgow Caledonian University

·         Dr Glen Creeber - Senior lecturer in television studies at Aberystwyth University.

·         Dr David Rollinson - lecturer and specialist on British television drama.

·         Scholars and staff from the University of Gloucestershire.

·        The Rural Media Company - will be premiering their community film ‘Buried Heart’

·        Round table discussions -  on the use of the Potter archive which is now housed at the DHC.

·        Dennis Potter Archive – a selection of items from the archive such as scripts, photographs and memorabilia will be available to view

·        Exhibition and audio tour – Be one of the first to follow our audio tour and view the exhibition and 1950’s living room.

Set against a background of 1950’s nostalgia and music, enjoy all things 1950’s on Saturday 29th June 2013, as the Dean Heritage Centre officially celebrates the culmination of its Dennis Potter Heritage Project and takes a look back at the 1950’s Forest.
