Senior Lecturer in Media&  Communications

Two members of the staff of the CAMRI (the Communication and Media Research Institute) and the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication are on research leave for the academic year 2013/14.  We are therefore advertising for  two one year fixed term Senior Lectureships (starting Sep 2013) who will undertake replacement teaching, module leadership and dissertation supervision in media and communication theory at BA and MA level, and will be part of CAMRI, the UK's highest rated  media research unit, and its entry into REF 2014.

The two posts will between them lead and teach on undergraduate and postgraduate modules on media policy, theories of communication, networked society and the media, media research methods  and media institutions and society, etc and supervise MA and BA dissertations in media and communications.

You will need a PhD (or evidence of imminent submission), in-depth knowledge of substantial areas of media theory, experience of teaching at university level in media and communication and an academic publication record in media and communication of international quality.
