The European Journalism Training Association and the Flemish/Dutch Network of Journalism Institutes will host the 3rd World Journalism Education Congress WJEC-3, which will be held in Mechelen, Belgium from 3 to 5 July 2013.

The congress theme will be Renewing Journalism Through Education.
What is in store for journalism and how can education ensure that the journalist of the future is prepared for the challenges that inevitable changes will bring? How can journalism schools become innovators instead of merely followers?  During the congress there will be ample time for each region, country and training institute to contribute from their own perspective and take part in the discussion over how the profession and how education and working conditions within the profession will function in the future.  The 3rd World Journalism Congress (WJEC-3) will provide an excellent opportunity to explore current status and will lead the way to efficient development of educational support and training within the profession.
This congress is in line with the city’s objective of becoming the media centre of Flanders and will be held at the Lamot Congress Centre and at Thomas More Mechelen.

Congress registration fee (save €50 by booking before the end of March!)
- Early-bird booking: until 31 March 2013: €300
- Regular fee: 1 April 2013 until 31 May 2013: €350
