[ecrea] IAMCR Pre-Conference: Advancing Media Production Research

Mon Jan 28 17:22:08 GMT 2013

This is a reminder of a rare IAMCR PRE-CONFERENCE this year: a one day event in Leeds, England immediately prior to the IAMCR conference in Dublin, on 24 June (one day before the start of the IAMCR conference). Transport between Leeds and Dublin is inexpensive.

This event is a collaboration between IAMCR, ICA, and ECREA.
If you are a production researcher, or have an interest in debating the role and future of production research, please join us on the 24th of June. For details, please see http://iamcr.org/s-wg/mcpc/mpa/986-ampr or the conference website at http://www.pvac.leeds.ac.uk/productionresearch/.

Should you wish to present a paper, 300 word abstracts must be submitted via the conference website by 28 January.

Expected participants include:

Georgina Born (Uncertain Vision: Birt, Dyke and the Reinvention of the BBC)
David Ryfe (Can Journalism Survive? An inside look at American Newsrooms)
    Philip Schlesinger (Putting ‘Reality’ Together)
    David Hesmondhalgh (The Cultural Industries)
    Chris Paterson (Making Online News)
