2013 CALL FOR PAPERS - INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF DIGITAL TELEVISION

Editor: Michael Starks, Programme in Comparative Media Law and Policy, Oxford University

Associate Editor (UK and Europe): Petros Iosifidis, City University London

Associate Editor (United States): Jeffrey A. Hart, Department of Political Science, Indiana University

Associate Editor (Australia): Jock Given, Institute for Social Research, Swinburne University, Melbourne

Publisher: Intellect Journals, Bristol

The International Journal of Digital Television aims to describe and explain the transition to digital TV and wider trends in television, as switchover happens across the globe. The Journal brings together the work of academics, policy-makers and practitioners, offering lessons from one another’s experience. Content is broad and varied, evolving as the focus shifts from completing the digital switchover process to the challenge of exploiting digital television’s convergence with the Internet and telecommunications. We cover technology within policy, regulatory, broadcasting and consumer contexts but we are not a technical journal. Contribututions should be theoretically grounded.

International range: We encompass digital television developments all around the world. We welcome contributions both from countries which have switched fully to digital television and are exploring all the implications and from countries which are only just embarking on the process.

Responding to this call: We invite papers covering any aspect of digital television in keeping with the aims and scope outlined above. Topics with a national focus should be written with an international readership in mind. Technical subjects should be presented in a way which makes them accessible to non-technical readers. Major articles should, if possible, be between 5000 and 8000 words in length.

Potential contributors should contact the Associate Editor (UK and Europe) as soon as possible, naming their topic or sending a short abstract, and will then receive the Journal’s Notes for Contributors.
