[ecrea] Celebrity Studies Cultural Report - Open CFP
Wed Nov 13 08:16:20 GMT 2013
The Cultural Report Section of the journal of /Celebrity Studies/ is
seeking papers that examine and explore celebrity and fame in focus
areas that are traditionally marginalized. This is because celebrity is
a worldwide phenomenon and no population or culture is too small to
produce, circulate and consume fame. Too often these cultures do not get
explored.
The editor of the Cultural Report seeks papers of 2,500 words in length
that approach the movement of celebrity and fame outside of dominant
Western contexts and cultures. Suggested topics include, but are not
limited to:
Movement of celebrity in the:
Middle East
Latin America
Eastern Europe
African Nations
Asia including Afghanistan, China, India, Pakistan, Japan
Marginal and minoritarian celebrity figures
Indigenous cultures
Peripheral star and celebrity case studies
This is an open call for papers with no set deadline mandated. All
accepted papers will be blind peer reviewed. The style guidelines can be
