INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON THEATRE AND CINEMA CENSORSHIP
Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa
13, 14, 15 November 2013 - Lisboa -Portugal

The Call for Papers the International Conference on Theatre and Cinema
Censorship that will take place in the Auditorium 1 and in the Building
ID at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Universidade
Nova de Lisboa, in Lisbon, Portugal between 13 and 15 November 2013, was
extended to 31 July.
Although the main focus of the conference is theatre and cinema
censorship, we look forward to receiving submissions on topics
including, but not limited to, the following areas:
- Censorship and press;
- Censorship and legislation;
- Censorship and translation;
- Censorship and cultural practices;
- Censorship and Asociaciones;
- Censorship in the media (television, Internet, etc.) ;
- Censorship and gender;
- Censorship and war;
- Censorship and multiculturalism;
- Censorship and its representations;
- Censorship in popular culture;
- Censorship and religion;
- Censorship and freedom of expression.
GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACT:
Candidates are asked to include an abstract maximum 500 words. Abstracts
can be submitted in Portuguese, English or Spanish. The proposal should
also contain the title, the topic of submission, 5 keywords and 5
bibliographical references along with a short biographical note, maximum
100 words, including the following information: institutional
affiliation, academic degrees, contact information (e-mail address and
phone number).

DEADLINES:
Deadline for proposals: 31 July 2013
Notification of acceptance: 15 September 2013
Provisional Programme will be available from: 15 September 2013
Deadline for submitting a full draft paper: 30 October 2013
Final programme will be available from: 5 November 2013
