*Research Group Leader – Vacancy in Media Studies in Prague*
The Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism, Faculty of Social
Science, Charles University in Prague seeks a research fellow to be a
leader of its newly founded research group. The contract is full time
and no teaching is included. The research fellow will coordinate the
group of app. 5 researchers working on topics related to the
transformation of political communications through new media and popular
culture. The research fellow will be responsible for consolidation of
the research strategy of the group including the plan for generation of
high-level publications and Czech and European grant submissions. Not
last, the research fellow will also conduct his/her own research and
publish the results. As concerns the research output, minimal
requirements are: the publication of one article in an international
peer-reviewed journal indexed by Scopus (or higher) and one valuable
out-of-journal publication (e.g. book or book chapter published with
excellent academic publisher) per year.
Formal Requirements:
- PhD degree in social sciences (or humanities)
- The PhD degree was preferably obtained before 2009
- managerial experience and the ability to coordinate a research group
- experience with publishing in world-class publications – at least one
article published in an impacted journal as first and only author
- experience in the submission of research projects on the European
level (ERC, ESF, COST) or the level of national research councils
- excellent academic writing skills in English, A-level English
