(10%) in _the field of Media Theory_

The faculty of Political and Social Sciences has a vacancy for a
professorship, starting from October 1, 2012. It concerns a part-time
position (10%) as Professor in the rank of Lecturer (docent) for 3 years
in the Department of Communication Sciences, charged with academic
teaching (in Dutch), scientific research and carrying out scientific
duties in the field of Media theory.

Profile

- Candidates should preferably hold a PhD in Communication Sciences or a
degree recognized as equivalent in the field of Communication Sciences
or a PhD in Philosophy and Moral Sciences with proved experience in
Media and Ethics;

- *have at least two years of postdoctoral experience on October 1, 2012;*

- Candidates are required to have research experience in the field
mentioned, as is evident from recent publications in national and
international peer reviewed journals and/or books;

- Candidates are required to possess the necessary didactic,
organizational and communicative skills for teaching at an academic
level in the field of media and ethics, on bachelor and master level;

- Having experience in international mobility, amongst others through
participation in research programs at research institutions not linked
to the university where the highest degree was obtained, is recommended;

- Having experience in research projects is recommended.

This position is linked to the course 'Media and ethics'. Additionally,
the position includes the usual tasks related to a ZAP-position, such as
the supervision of master dissertations and attracting of research.

The governing language at Ghent University is Dutch. However, persons
