[ecrea] Scottish Consortium for Film and Visual Studies: CFP and registration

The fifth (and last) meeting of the Scottish Consortium of Film and
Visual Studies will take place at the Birnam Institute in Dunkeld on
Friday 8th June. We would like to invite colleagues based in Scottish
institutions to register and/or propose papers.
*Call for Papers*
There will be two open sessions and we welcome proposals on any aspect
of film and visual culture. Please send a 100 word proposal plus a 50
word bio to (apmm /at/ st-andrews.ac.uk) <mailto:(apmm /at/ st-andrews.ac.uk)> by
Friday 18th May. Travel bursaries will be available for any
postgraduates whose papers are accepted.
*Registration*
Attendance is free but registration is required. To register please
email (apmm /at/ st-andrews.ac.uk) <mailto:(apmm /at/ st-andrews.ac.uk)> as soon as
possible. A limited number of additional, £30 postgraduate travel
bursaries will also be available.

This last event from the Carnegie Trust-sponsored SCFVS series will
feature panels on film curation and local cinema, a workshop on film
censorship with colleagues from the BBFC on the occasion of their 100th
anniversary, and keynotes by John Caughie on his large AHRC project
studying early cinema in Scotland and Richard Patterson, the
long-standing research coordinator of the British Film Institute, on the
BFI and the academy. Here is the provisional programme:
