Faculty Political and Social Sciences - vacancy part-time
professorship (40%) in the field of Media Analysis

The faculty of Political and Social Sciences has a vacancy for a
professorship, starting from February 1, 2012. It concerns a part-time
position (40%) as Professor in the rank of Lecturer (docent) for 3
years in the Department of Communication Sciences, charged with
academic teaching (in Dutch), scientific research and carrying out
scientific duties in the field of Media Analysis.

Profile
-	Candidates should hold a PhD in Communication Sciences or a degree
recognized as equivalent in the field of Communication Sciences;
-	Candidates are required to have research experience in the field
mentioned, as is evident from recent publications in national and
international peer reviewed journals and/or books;
-	Candidates are required to possess the necessary didactic,
organizational and communicative skills for teaching at an academic
level in the field of study concerned, on bachelor and master level;
-	Having experience in international mobility, amongst others through
participation in research programs at research institutions not linked
to the university where the highest degree was obtained, is recommended;
-	Having experience in research projects is recommended.

The governing language at Ghent University is Dutch. However, persons
who do not speak Dutch as a native language are welcome to apply.

The faculty of Political and Social Sciences has a vacancy for a
professorship, starting from February 1, 2012. It concerns a part-time
position (10%) as Professor in the rank of Lecturer (docent) for 3
years in the Department of Communication Sciences, charged with
academic teaching (in Dutch), scientific research and carrying out
scientific duties in the field of New Communication Technologies, in
particular the field of social scientific aspects with regards to ICT
and new media. The lecturer will be responsible for setting up and
supervising the research seminar on ?New Media&  Society? as well as
for supervising master theses in the field mentioned.

Profile
-	Candidates should hold a PhD in Communication Sciences or a degree
recognized as equivalent in the field of Communication Sciences;
-	Candidates are required to have research experience in the field
mentioned, as is evident from recent publications in national and
international peer reviewed journals and/or books;
