Tue Sep 06 10:56:32 GMT 2011

Changing Journalism, from three members of the Leverhulme Space of the News Research Group at Goldsmiths, is now out. It is a timely contribution to the debates of the moment and will be a useful addition to book lists for journalism and media studies students. The authors are both practitioners and academics and reflect both strands of the debate. See the PDF below.

Changing Journalism
Peter Lee Wright Angela Phillips Tamara Witschge, Routledge
Journalism is in transition. Irrevocable decisions are being made, often based on flimsy evidence, which could change not only the future of journalism, but also the future of democracy. This book, based on extensive research, provides the opportunity to reflect upon these decisions and considers how journalism could change for the better and for the good of democracy.
/Changing Journalism /covers:

 the business landscape

 work and employment

 the regulatory framework

 audiences and interaction

 the impact of technology on practices and content

 ethics in a converged world.

The authors are members of the internationally renowned Goldsmiths Leverhulme Media Research Centre, whose news group have been charting the impact of these changes in journalism in recent years.
