Call for Papers

Empedocles: European Journal for the Philosophy of Communication

Aims and Scope
Empedocles aims to provide a publication and discussion platform for those working at the interface of philosophy and the study of communication, in all its aspects. Philosophical reflection and analysis regarding communication is an intellectually exciting enterprise in its own right, but also important for today?s globalising and increasingly mediatised societies. Understanding how communication, communicative action and communicative practices have informed established philosophical disciplines, topics and questions constitutes an important research paradigm, which has drawn considerable attention in the recent past, but which as yet has not been explored fully.

This Journal is published in cooperation with the Section for the Philosophy of Communication of ECREA, the European Communication Research and Education Association: <http://www.philosophy-of-communication.eu/>http://www.philosophy-of-communication.eu/

Its editorial team is formed by Dr Johan Siebers (University of Central Lancashire), Prof Dr Bart Vandenabeele (University of Ghent), Dr Tino Meitz (University of Tübingen), Dr Vincenzo Romania (University of Padua), Dr Vincent Blok (Wageningen University) and Dr Vivienne Boon (University of Groningen).

Call for Papers
Empedocles publishes double-blind peer reviewed articles (6,000-8,000 words), as well as book reviews, interviews and discussions. We facilitate the development of philosophies of communication and their application to other areas of research, intellectual and creative practice and cultural and political action. Work from all disciplines, schools and traditions in philosophy, communication studies and related areas of research is welcome.
