The Television Studies Section of the European
Communication Research and Education Association
(ECREA) is inviting the submission of papers,
panels or posters on issues of its specific
subfield for the forthcoming ECC- 2010
conference, in collaboration with the Hans
Bredow Institute, the University of Hamburg and
the Hamburg Media School, in Germany from 12 to 15 October 2010.
Specifically, the Television Studies Section of
ECREA is inviting historical, empirical and/or
theoretical contributions on the changing nature
of the European television landscape. We welcome
papers that address issues such as: the
deregulation of broadcasting, television after
the network era, international format trade in
television, local adaptations of TV formats,
televisionâ??s contribution to national and
transnational communication, the role of
regional television in European space,
transnational TV personalities, IPTV in Europe.
In line with the general theme of the 2010 ECC
we particularly, but not only, invite papers or
panels that address comparative research in
Europe, from comparative analysis of television
texts to comparative audience studies, from
comparative analysis of broadcast policy to
comparative analysis of television studies in
different European countries. Other submissions
can address more general issues in the broad field of television studies.
