CfF: Internal Communication, BledCom International Public Relations Symposium
The program committee of 18th BledCom
International Public Relations Research
Symposium at Lake Bled, Slovenia (1-2 July 2011)
welcomes papers from both academics and
practitioners addressing internal communication
in corporations, non-profits, and government agencies.
Some themes relevant to this topic are: employee
communication, human resource management,
employee engagement, change
management/communication, corporate culture and
its impact on employee satisfaction and
participation, and measurement of internal
communication processes and outcomes. The
committee welcomes papers from academics and
practitioners. Papers may be conceptual or based
on empirical data (using quantitative and
qualitative methodologies). Case studies
explicating various aspects of employee communication are also welcome.
Internal communication is paramount for
organizational effectiveness. But while today
more people work in internal communications than
ever and while more material resources are spent
on it, trust that people have in their
organisations is lower, as well as their
commitment and organizational loyalty. We seem
to live in a time of internal communication paradox.
The conference: BledCom symposium is an annual
gathering of scholars and practitioners in
public relations and related disciplines to
discuss contemporary communication and
management problems. So far, eight books and six
special issues of academic journals have been
published based on previous symposia (see:
