International Seminar Dutch Conference
1st December 2004 2nd December 2004
The information society and social policy

Computers and internet stand for technical progress. But do they also bring about social progress? Is social quality improving as more households gain access to the internet and more people spend time using new media? Or will access and use of technology prove to become a new faultline in social exclusion?

This seminar and conference will explore how new media and social quality relate to each other. The perspective is that of social policy and practice. How can government, local authority, social agencies, community workers & engage with technology to increase the contribution technology can make to social quality? Through a number of country reports and thematic papers, the international seminar explores what policy/practice matches our ambitions to achieve e-inclusion.
