Maastricht University is hiring an Assistant Professor in Storytelling 
and Digital Media

Stories have always shaped how we understand the world but today they’re 
being reimagined through AI, immersive media, games, and interactive 
platforms. We are looking for a colleague to help us explore that shift.
My Department, Literature and Art at the Faculty of Arts and Social 
Sciences (FASoS), Maastricht University, is opening an Assistant 
Professor position in Storytelling and Digital Media.

What you'll do
Join our research program Arts, Media, and Culture (AMC) and collaborate 
with centers like MACCH and the Center for Gender and Diversity;
Teach across our BA Digital Society, BA Arts and Culture, MA Media 
Studies: Digital Cultures, and MA Arts and Culture programs;
Research how digital technologies transform narrative, from transmedia 
storytelling and digital literature to AI-generated narratives and 
immersive media;
Contribute to a 60% teaching / 40% research with room to grow research 
time through external funding

What we're looking for
A PhD in digital humanities, media studies, literary studies, cultural 
studies, or a related field
A growing publication record and appetite for collaborative grant proposals
Hands-on, tech-savvy expertise across hardware, software, networking, or 
big data applied to storytelling
Experience with Problem-Based Learning (PBL) or a genuine interest in it
C1 English and willingness to reach B1 Dutch within three years
