City, University of London is continuing a strategic expansion of its 
Media and Communications offerings and seeks a Lecturer or Senior 
Lecturer in STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION.


The newDepartment of Media, Culture and Creative Industriesdraws 
together academic staff specialising in Advertising, Creative Writing, 
Culture and Creative Industries, English literature, Management in Media 
and Creative Industries, Media and Communications, Media Production, 
Publishing, PR and Strategic Communications. The department is committed

The successful candidate will have a PhD, ideally in Communications, 
Media, Business, Marketing or a related field. Candidates should possess 
a general knowledge of contemporary critical, theoretical and 
professional issues in Media and Communications and be able to teach and 
design modules across the subject in a way that is industry-focussedand 
socially relevant. In particular, they should have research-based 
knowledgeand the ability to teachin the following areas:

  * Strategic communications
  * Public relations
  * Other core areas of our departmental curricula, such as modules in
    advertising, marketing, media and communication audiences, media
    management

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed teacher able to engage 
and enthuse a diverse student body that includes international students 
as well as students from widening participation backgrounds. We are also 
looking for a new colleague who is willing to collaborate to strengthen 
the undergraduate and postgraduate Media and Communication courses and 
contribute to other programmes in the department.

The successful candidate will need to be in post by1 April 2024 or as 
soon as possible thereafter.
