The University of Glasgow has twelve fully funded PhD fellowships for
students wishing to pursue doctoral studies at the university who are
resident in the United Kingdom or citizens of the United Kingdom with
black or mixed African/West India heritage. These scholarships are
tenable within the University of Glasgow's Sociology department working
with the Glasgow University Media Group and colleagues in political
communication. Appointment is for a three year term of research.

Students wishing to apply for the scheme should have a clear idea about
what research they wish to pursue and evidence of a strong record in the
fields of sociology or communication, or alternatively clear potential
to move into the field through their doctoral study. The Glasgow
University Media Group specialises in environmental and climate
communication, critical sociology of media, race, public interest
journalism, and the African media.
Prospective students can find staff profiles and contact potential
supervisors at the following link.
