Wed Oct 04 04:22:47 GMT 2023
Please find below a job opening we have at the University of Leicester.
Deadline for applications is Oct. 12
About the role
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Digital Media to join our
well-established Media and Communication unit. You will play a leading
role in the campus based and distance learning MA programmes and make a
contribution to the BA Media and Communication degree programme as well
as contributing to research and administration in the division.
The University of Leicester has the longest established Communication
and Media unit in the UK founded 55 years ago as the Centre for Mass
Communication and Research in 1966. Celebrating over half a century of
cutting-edge research we are committed to academic excellence,
intellectual diversity, good teaching and ensuring that the student
experience is not only interesting and challenging in its own right but
also provides a vital foundation for future employment. Media and
Communication at Leicester derives its intellectual identity from a
commitment to tackling ‘real world’ problems in the pursuit of equality,
diversity and social justice.
You will be expected to contribute world-leading research in an
established and successful part of the University. Media and
Communication was ranked 7th in the UK’s 2021 Research Excellence
Framework evaluation. We are also an important hub for delivering Media
and Communication undergraduate degree programmes and a wide range of
Masters programmes to a large cohort of international students.
About you
With experience of teaching Digital Media at university level, you will
have a completed PhD in Media and Communication, or a closely related
field. You will be a recognised expert for the subject matter with a
clear potential or evidence of an emerging record of research income,
commensurate with career experience.
Motivated by providing the very best experience to our students, you
will have skills in advising and motivating students to achieve their
potential.
