Assistant Professor (t-t) of Cinema Studies: Narrative TV Production
Application Deadline: Review begins October 1, 2023; position open until

The Cinema Studies Department at the University ofOregonis pleased to
invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Narrative
Fiction Production. The successful applicant will begin in fall 2024 and
should specialize in television encompassing its various formats
(broadcast, streaming, social media platforms, etc.).
The successful applicant will be an artist focusing on narrative fiction
(including shorts, features, and/orepisodic narratives), have an
establishedorpromising record of accomplishment of screenings at
festivalsorvia other distribution platforms, and demonstrate an
inclusive teaching philosophy and practice.
We invite applicants with a vibrant portfolio of work (completedorin
progress). We are especially interested in filmmakers who will
strengthen the department’s integration of scholarship and creative
practice. Competitive applicants will exhibit a strong conceptual and
technical understanding of the field and a record of training and
mentoring undergraduate populations as creative artists. They will also
be conversant with the issue of television’s place in the contemporary
global screen media landscape.
