Three Full-time, fee-funded PhD Studentship in the Arts
Project Details
The School of Arts at Oxford Brookes University is pleased to offer a
fees-only PhD research studentship to highly a motivated PhD candidate
to work within one of the Research Groups operating in the School
(https://www.brookes.ac.uk/school-of-arts/research-groups/
<https://www.brookes.ac.uk/school-of-arts/research-groups/>) under the
Centre of Research in the Arts (CoRA).
We are seeking candidates with academic qualifications in the Arts and
Humanities, or related disciplines, to conduct research projects related
to the vibrant academic community operating in the CoRA research centre,
with a variety of methodologies and approaches, including practice-based
research, empirical work on audiences and texts, as well as
theory-driven analysis, industrial research, and both historical and
contemporary perspectives.
We welcome applications on any topic related to the multifaceted
research strands in the School, and are particularly interested in
research proposals focussed on:
Contemporary and historical audiences
Conceptual and historical approaches to popular film and television
Music and film
Opera
Digital storytelling
Sound Art
Photography
Art theory
Creative practice
Book history
Disability Arts
Deadline: 1 September 2022
Interview: 30 September 2022
Start date: January 2022
Desirable Requirements:
MA in Humanities or equivalent
