The English Department (American Studies Division) invites applications for the position of *Research Assistant (m/f/d) at the English Department / American Studies Division (Salary Scale 13 TV-L, 65 %) *starting 01.04.2022. The position is limited to 3,5 years.

*Responsibilities and duties *

Responsibilities and duties include research in a sub-project of the DFG-funded Emmy Noether Research Group "Hollywood Memories: Cinematic Remaking and the Construction of Global Movie Generations," in particular conducting and analyzing qualitative interviews with interviewees in Mexico, contributing to scientific publications and presentations of the research results, and working on one's own scientific qualification (a PhD dissertation based on the sub-project and the collected research data). *Employment conditions*

The prerequisite for employment is a successfully completed academic university degree (Master, Magister or Staatsexamen) in the field of English/American Studies and Spanish (with a focus on film/media). Excellent English and Spanish language skills (written and spoken) are expected, as well as a high level of motivation, reliability, structured working methods, and the ability to work in a team. Knowledge of qualitative methods of empirical social research is desired.
