*Position Announcement for Associate Professor in communication with
weight on digitalization*
There is now an available full-time position at the Department of
Communication and Culture as Associate Professor in communication with
an emphasis on digitalization. The department wishes to strengthen the
research and teaching capacity within the focus area of digital
communication. It is expected as a member of the department that the
candidate has a considerable contribution to the department’s research
and teaching environment, as well as BI’s overall research strategy. We
are therefore seeking a candidate with research and teaching
competencies within the following disciplines:
-Digital communication in working life and organizations (communication
channels, collaboration tools, social media)
-Communication and technology (applications, algorithms, platform, mobile)
-Social media (content, reach, network communication)
-Digital market communication and public relations
(stakeholder-relations; customer relations management, SEO, web analysis
and automation)
It is desirable that the candidate contributes in the development of
larger research projects and applications for external funding from The
Research Council of Norway and the EU. It is expected that the candidate
shall teach and guide students at bachelor and master level, contribute
to national and international research as well as educational
development work. 50 % of the candidates working hours is dedicated to
research and publishing.
_Eligibility requirements:_
-Relevant Ph.D.
-Scientific publications within the field.
-Documented educational qualifications, educational skills and broad
educational experience within the field. In line with BI’s guidelines,
candidates lacking educational experience may undertake a course in
pedagogy. The course must be completed within two years.
- It is expected that the candidate accrue good knowledge of Norwegian
social conditions, culture and organizational life within five years.
-Good verbal and written manufacturing skills in both English and
Norwegian (alternatively a Scandinavian language).
-For applicants who do not have one of the Scandinavian languages as
their mother tongue, documentation of both verbal and written language
skills in Norwegian is required.
_When assessing and ranking, emphasis is placed on:_
-Education and/or research experience in digital communication.__
-Relevant scientific publications in the last three-five years.__
-Practical work experience.__
-Experience from teaching and guiding at both bachelor and master level.__
-Educational qualifications.__
-Good collaboration characteristics and ability to enter into
multidisciplinary communities.__
-Personal characteristics that can have a positive impact to the working
environment.__

Competence assessment is carried out in accordance with the usual rules
for academic positions at university level, as expressed in BI's
appointment rules. Applicants may be invited for interviews, sample
lectures or seminar presentations. BI Norwegian Business School reserves
the right not to appoint applicants who may be scientifically qualified,
if it is found that they do not meet requirements for teaching
abilities, teaching experience and personal collaboration skills.
