UWE Bristol seeks a dynamic Professor who will lead cross-disciplinary research and innovation at the intersection between creative practice and emerging media technology, and contribute to the delivery of teaching and learning in this field.

You will have a background in research and publication on transforming media practices, and a research interest in immersion. Possessing the ability to develop and manage projects with multiple creative industry and academic partners, you will bring a vision for research that responds to the government’s Industrial Strategy for Creative Industries.

Based across UWE's Bower Ashton and City Campuses, you will take a research leadership role in the School of Film and Journalism, the Digital Cultures Research Centre (DCRC), <http://www.dcrc.org.uk/> and the newly established Bristol VR Lab <https://bristolvrlab.com/>. You will work closely with colleagues involved in research projects based at the Pervasive Media Studio <https://www.watershed.co.uk/studio/> - home of DCRC - within City Campus. These include Ambient Literature <https://research.ambientlit.com/>, i-Docs <http://i-docs.org>, Virtual Realities <http://vrdocumentaryencounters.co.uk/>, Bristol & Bath Creative R&D (AHRC Creative Industries Clusters) and Research England’s South West Creative Technology Network <https://swctn.org.uk/>.

This is a full-time, permanent academic position, based in the Faculty of Arts, Creative Industries and Education.

Salary: Grade J - £59,828 - £61,618
