Film Studies at the University of Southampton invites applications for AHRC PhD studentships for 2019/20 entry. These are awarded via the SWW DTP (South West and Wales Doctoral Training Partnership).

Film Studies at the University of Southampton has a vibrant and substantial community of research students who enjoy an annual student research conference as well as events tied to the Centre for International Film Research (CIFR). We are a well-established and growing department, with staff expertise across a wide range of areas. Southampton has been placed consistently in the top five of Guardian tables and in the last National Student Survey 97% of students praised that it gave opportunities to explore ideas or concepts in depth.
