Hofstra University, Lawrence Herbert School of Communication, Department
of Journalism, Media Studies and Public Relations anticipates an opening
in Fall 2019 for a tenure-track appointment for a full-time assistant or
associate professor to teach undergraduate courses in mass media studies.
Candidates should have a PhD, teaching experience, and evidence of an
active research agenda. The successful applicant should have a
demonstrated ability to teach courses in media management along with
courses from among the following: media research, theory, media
literacy, sports, history, popular culture media & social media or new
distribution channels (e.g. mobile and online streaming). Candidates who
have professional experience in, or whose scholarly work focuses on,
media industry perspectives, media management and leadership, media
economics, information technologies, competitive strategies, and
corporate responsibility are also encouraged to apply.
Compensation and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and
experience, with excellent benefits. The position is subject to
financial availability.
