​The Centre for Media and Culture at Edinburgh Napier University is looking for a part time PhD student to join its team of researchers and media practitioners.

The Centre is able to fund the fees for one part time PhD studentship to home/EU level. Overseas candidates are eligible to apply, but will be liable to pay the difference between home/EU and overseas fees.

The studentships are expected to start as soon as possible.
Research proposals are invited in the area of media and screen studies. These may include (but are not limited to):
Journalism
Film
TV studies
Local media
Social engagement and user participation
Digital platforms
Virtual Reality
Visual ethnography
Documentary production
We welcome ideas that focus on traditional research methodologies as well as ‘practice-as-research’ PHD proposals. Each proposal should contain an outline of existing literature in the area of study and a description of your proposed methodology over the years of study. At this stage applications will be shortlisted and prospective candidates invited to an interview at Edinburgh Napier.
