The School of Journalism and Mass Communication in the College of
Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities invites
nominations and applications for a faculty position in journalism
studies at the rank of assistant professor (tenure-track) beginning fall
semester 2016 (08/29/2016).


Successful candidates for this position will show outstanding promise of
sustaining a vigorous program of original research and publication and
show promise of excellence in graduate level teaching and advising (both
M.A. and Ph.D.). They should demonstrate the capacity and commitment to
teach undergraduate and graduate academic courses in the area of
journalism studies.


Depending on their background and interests, successful candidates will
have opportunities to teach courses related to journalism, electronic
media or other topics in mass communication studies represented in the
School’s curriculum.


Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a
closely related discipline by the start-date of the appointment.
Meaningful professional journalism experience and the capacity to
contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of a rapidly evolving
curriculum in journalism are highly desirable.
