[ecrea] Four year PhD (Doctoral) Position "ICTs and Society" in Salzburg

The University of Salzburg (Department of Communication, Center for
ICT&S) seeks for applications for a scientific research fellow (research
and teaching) corresponding to UG 2002 and the salaried employees act
with a doctoral research fellow according to § 26 collective agreement.

  * Start of employment: October 1st, 2015
  * Duration of employment: 4 years
  * Weekly hours of work: 30
  * Job description: scientific support of research, teaching and
    administrative agendas within the research field Information and
    Communication Technologies & Society; own research/dissertation
    project (possibility for obtaining a doctoral degree), from the
    third year on independent teaching, support and cooperation with
    research proposals (conceptualization, writing, submission), support
    of planning and conducting conferences.
  * Research interests/Dissertation topic in one or more of the
    following areas/topics: uses of mobile communication technologies;
    Participation and Internet; digital inequalities and digital
    literacies; convergence cultures; digital media technologies and
    everyday life; new dimensions of connectivity and Internet of
    Things; Processes of Mediatization (Micro and Macro Level).
  * Requirements: Diploma or Master in communication studies or related
    social sciences.
  * Qualifications: well-grounded knowledge in empirical research
    methods; perfect English; German welcomed; interest in scientific
    writing; affinity towards Internet and digital communication;
    Experiences with research projects.
  * Individual attributes: well established communicating skills; team
    orientated; independent work style.
