      Position overview

Applications are invited for a full-time, fixed-term senior tutorship in
the Media Studies programme of the School of English and Media Studies
at Massey University on the Palmerston North, Manawatu Campus in
semester 1, 2016. The programme teaches courses in internal and distance
learning modes (including online delivery), at both undergraduate and
postgraduate levels. The period of employment will run from 15 February
(negotiable) until 15 July 2015.

As the successful applicant you will provide teaching, assessment,
administration and online support for the whole semester in 154.203
Popular Culture and the Media (internal and distance), 154.303 Hollywood
Cinema (internal), and 154.101 Introduction to Media Studies (distance).
This work will be carried out in association with the respective paper
coordinators, and the appointee will teach to a curriculum and
assessment tasks that are already established. Existing teaching
resources will be available. The approach to popular culture in 154.203
will require a candidate conversant in cultural and critical theory.

To be successful in appointment to this opportunity you will have a
either completed your PhD or be very near to completion at the time of
application. Some previous university teaching experience will be expected.
