PhD in Applied Linguistics: Call for Applications
Applications and enquiries are invited for the following academic year
2015-2016 from qualified and motivated students wishing to pursue a PhD
degree in Applied Linguistics or adjacent areas such as discourse
analysis, intercultural and professional communication.
Who is the PhD program for?
Given the programs focus on communication and discourse analysis, it is
aimed at those who wish to gain a distinguishing qualification and move
to successful academic career, or compete for to top positions in
politics, international business environments and the media. As a PhD
graduate you will know how to carry out high-quality research, in
different milieus, and develop valued analytic and communication skills.
How is the program structured?
The PhD in Applied Linguistics is a taught degree program that combines
on-campus residencies with individual supervised research. As a
successful candidates you will attend a total of 8 week-long intensive
seminars in the first and second years of study, and receive intensive
year-long on-line guidance from Professors. By the end of the program
you will have produced original research in your field of interest and
have achieved high levels of intellectual development.

2015 exceptionally able students who are interested in fields as
discourse analysis, communication, English language teaching and
testing, translation or interpreting and who wish to make an original
contribution to research in their field of interest.
