The University of Leipzig, Institute of Communication and Media Studies,
is seeking for applicants to fill the following position starting on
October 1, 2016:
Professor of Empirical Communication and Media Research
focused on Methodologies and Methods
The professorship will work in the field of empirical communication and
media research with a specific focus on methodologies and methods of
empirical research. Research in the area of media reception and effects
are desirable. The professor (male/female) will teach courses in the
bachelor and master programs „Communication and Media Studies“ (German)
and „Global Mass Communication“ (English) and other programs, supervise
doctoral students and lead the undergraduate program of the institute.
The willingness to participate in interdisciplinary research projects of
the university and institute, to engage in the center for empirical
methods, and to align with one of the research profile areas of the
university listed at

required. International publications and research, teaching abilities
in English language as well as a record of third-party funding are required.
Duties and rights of this tenured, full professorship (public salary
level W3) are based on Saxonian state law (SächsHSFG, DAVOHS).
Applicants have to be qualified according to § 58 SächsHSFG (doctorate
and additionally either habilitation or academic qualifications proven
by a publication portfolio equal to a habilitation).
