Public Relations/Strategic Communication
The Gulf University for Science and Technology (www.gust.edu.kw) is 
Kuwait's first private, American-model university. GUST currently offers 
programs in Arts and Sciences, and Business—including an MBA.

The Department of Mass Communication and Media at GUST invites 
applications for two full-time positions in the area of public relations 
or strategic communication beginning in Fall 2015. Successful candidates 
will hold a Ph.D. in one of these areas or a related degree in 
communication.

Applicants with expertise in international/intercultural public 
relations, advertising, political communication, or rhetoric, as well as 
those with professional experience are highly desirable. Teaching duties 
include undergraduate courses in public relations and advertising, 
integrated marketing communication, strategic/political communication, 
and persuasive writing. Additional duties include advising students, 
engaging in scholarship, and providing institutional service.

The Department of Mass Communication and Media offers a B.A. degree with 
concentrations in public relations and advertising, visual 
communication, and radio/TV broadcasting. There are approximately 400 
majors overall with the largest majority concentrating in PR.
Qualified candidates will have completed their doctorate by the time of 
appointment, have evidence of quality teaching, and demonstrated 
scholarly achievement. Review of applications begins December 1, 2014

beginning in Fall 2015. Successful candidates will hold a Ph.D. in 
communication, journalism or a related field. Experience with audio and 
video production, as well as broadcast copywriting are expected.

Applicants with expertise in media law, media theory, journalism, or 
digital media are highly desirable. Teaching duties include 
undergraduate courses in radio and TV production, video and sound 
editing, media packages, news gathering, public speaking, media theory, 
and writing for mass media. Additional duties include advising students, 
engaging in scholarship, and providing institutional service.

The Department of Mass Communication and Media offers a B.A. degree with 
concentrations in radio/TV broadcasting, visual communication, and 
public relations and advertising. The department hosts approximately 500 
majors in a university of over 3,500 students.

Qualified candidates will have completed their doctorate by the time of

Digital Media

applications for a full-time faculty position specializing in digital or 
social media beginning in Fall 2015. Successful candidates will hold a 
terminal degree in communication or a closely related field.

Teaching duties will include undergraduate courses in digital media, web 
design, digital animation, graphic design, visual communication, or 
visual culture depending on the faculty’s areas of specialization. 
Additional duties include advising students, engaging in scholarship, 
and providing institutional service.
