[ecrea] Fully funded PhD in Press Freedom in Europe

One Fully Funded PhD Studentship from CAMRI at the University of Westminster and the European Institute for Journalism and Communication Research, in the area of Press Freedom in Europe
The Communication and Media Research Institute (CAMRI), University of Westminster, and the European Institute for Journalism and Communication Research in Leipzig/Germany (EIJC) invite applications for a PhD position in Communication and Media focusing on “Press and Media Freedom in Europe”.  The position includes a fee waiver and a grant of 1.200 Euros per month. In recognition of the studentship you will be expected to undertake some work for EIJC.

You will be enrolled on the CAMRI PhD programme at the University of Westminster but will be based mainly at the European Institute for Journalism and Communication Research in Leipzig/Germany. In Leipzig, you will be part of an international research team focusing on “Press Freedom in Europe”. The position is full-time and starts in September 2014 and is for three years.
Entry requirements

Candidates must be a Home student for fee purposes.

Eligible candidates will hold at least an upper second class honours degree and a Master’s degree. Candidates whose secondary level education has not been conducted in the medium of English should also demonstrate evidence of appropriate English language proficiency, normally defined as 6.5 in IELTS (with not less than 6.0 in any of the individual elements).
