The Department of Communication Arts at Marymount Manhattan College
seeks applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in
Film and Television Studies to begin fall 2014.
Required: Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Communication or a related
field by the time of appointment, a record of teaching excellence, a
commitment to service, and an active research agenda.
The successful applicant should be able to teach film courses currently
in our curriculum (such as survey of film and video, film history, and
contemporary world cinema) and develop new courses pertaining to
television. Of particular interest are candidates whose teaching has a
critical focus and attends to emerging forms of media production and
distribution. The ability to teach video production courses is
desirable. Responsibilities include teaching, service to the College,
and the successful pursuit of a research agenda leading to publication.
