Senior Lecturer, Digital Film Production
Ravensbourne is looking to recruit a dynamic, innovative, and future
thinking educator to join the Digital Film Production team. This new
and rapidly growing area in the institution is technologically focused
and determined to be at the forefront of the digital revolution in Film
Production and applicants are expected to be as excited about this new
field as Ravensbourne is. The successful candidate will have
responsibility for units across the three year BA (Hons) programme and
the new two year fast track BA (Hons) programme, and will be expected to
contribute to cross-disciplinary units and activities across a number of
associated programmes.
The successful applicant will have a first degree or post-graduate
qualification in a relevant subject, and should be able to demonstrate
good, recent professional knowledge and experience (both industry and
academic) in Digital Film Production. Excellent organisational skills
and the ability to engage students directly with their chosen industry
will be of significant benefit, and the ability to deploy creative
learning and teaching methods, and to innovate in curriculum design
would be advantageous. An active research profile or interest in
participating in research is of interest.
Applicants will be expected to possess high level, current skills in
Digital Film Production. These may be in a particular part of the
discipline such as Digital Cinematography, CGI, or post production, or
may be in areas such as Advertising, Documentary Production, Sustainable
Production Management, Delivery Platforms, or Directing for
Multi-Platform Production. Applicants with an in-depth knowledge of the
British film business, or an understanding of the industrial contexts of
Digital Film will be particularly welcome, as would those with
experience of new approaches to online collaborations and to production,
distribution and exhibition tools. A high level of technical
understanding and ability is essential.
Closing date: 11pm on Sunday 24 November 2013
Interviews: Thursday 5 December 2013
