The Centre for Film and Media Studies wishes to appoint a senior 
academic in the field of film and television studies or media studies 
for appointment from mid-2014.



As the successful candidate, you will:



-          hold a PhD

-          have substantial research expertise with significant 
publications with international recognition

-          have a proven track record of excellence in teaching

-          have experience in research leadership and promoting research

-          have experience attracting postgraduate students

-          have experience of academic leadership, as you will be 
expected to assume the Directorship of the Centre and to help strengthen 
the Centre’s position nationally and internationally



While you may not be expert in all the diverse fields of teaching, 
research and creative production encompassed by the Centre, you would 
need to be impartially supportive of all its endeavours.



The annual remuneration package, including benefits for 2013 is R 837 169.
