* Salary: £60,000-65,000 per annum

The Research Institute for Media, Art and Design (RIMAD) has built a thriving research culture, with 50% graded “internationally excellent” or above in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise. It has more than thirty research degree students, and works closely with the teaching divisions for media, art design, and performance. RIMAD has an exciting opportunity for a new member of staff to join our expanding team, contributing to research, teaching and enterprise. This post is an exceptional opportunity to play a leading role in one of our developing areas of specialism.

The successful candidate will have a PhD, an established research profile and substantial publication record, and higher education teaching experience. A successful record of application for external research funding is desirable. Candidates should have expertise in at least one of the following areas: new media and social media; journalism and new technologies; international and trans-national media; national and international media policies. A willingness to undertake international travel to support our partnership links is also desirable.
