[ecrea] Job Opportunities / PhD Studentship

Fri Jul 10 09:32:06 GMT 2009

Detailed below are three job opportunities and a PhD Studentship within The Centre for Excellence in Media Practice at Bournemouth University.

The Centre for Excellence in Media Practice is part of a major HEFCE initiative to recognise and reward excellence in 21st century learning and teaching. It is the only HEFCE designated Centre for Excellence in the media discipline in the UK, and is having a national impact providing innovative solutions to pedagogic issues in the teaching of media.

The Centre is part of the Media School, Bournemouth University. BU recently maintained its position as the UK's leading 'new' University for the second consecutive year according to The Guardian University Guide 2010.

To support our continued expansion, we are now looking to fill three academic positions:

Lecturer in Media & Education
The successful candidate should have a demonstrable track record in both media and education and be involved with innovative pedagogic practice.

You will have a Doctorate, ideally relevant professional experience, together with a growing reputation for excellence in learning and teaching, research and/or professional practice and enterprise activities.

The Centre is also offering a funded PhD Studentship in conjunction with Magic Lantern Productions.

PhD Studentship - Cross Platform Media Practice

The project should be focused on the emerging area of cross platform media practices. Cross platform practices are now impacting on contemporary media commissioning, production and reception and more traditional areas of scholarship are being influenced by new theoretical responses, and this project will make a significant contribution to this area
