within The Centre for Excellence in Media Practice at Bournemouth University.
The Centre for Excellence in Media Practice is part of a major HEFCE
initiative to recognise and reward excellence in 21st century
learning and teaching. It is the only HEFCE designated Centre for
Excellence in the media discipline in the UK, and is having a
national impact providing innovative solutions to pedagogic issues
in the teaching of media.
The Centre is part of the Media School, Bournemouth University. BU
recently maintained its position as the UK's leading 'new'
University for the second consecutive year according to The Guardian
University Guide 2010.
To support our continued expansion, we are now looking to fill three
academic positions:
Lecturer in Media & Education
The successful candidate should have a demonstrable track record in
both media and education and be involved with innovative pedagogic practice.

Lecturer in Media Regulation
This is a joint appointment with the Business School. We are
interested in candidates with a background in media law,
intellectual property law and regulatory policy.

Learning Researcher (Fixed Term Contract)
The successful candidate should have a strong track record in both
academic and commercial research projects.

You will have a Doctorate, ideally relevant professional experience,
together with a growing reputation for excellence in learning and
teaching, research and/or professional practice and enterprise activities.
The Centre is also offering a funded PhD Studentship in conjunction
with Magic Lantern Productions.
PhD Studentship - Cross Platform Media Practice
The project should be focused on the emerging area of cross platform
media practices. Cross platform practices are now impacting on
contemporary media commissioning, production and reception and more
traditional areas of scholarship are being influenced by new
theoretical responses, and this project will make a significant
contribution to this area
