INTERNATIONAL CALL FOR ARTISTIC RESEARCH WORK
The FilmEU European University is inviting postgraduate researchers from all over the world to submit artistic research works for the Artistic Research Exhibition (ARE 2025), taking place from 2-6 June 2025 in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Theme: Synthetic Rewilding – Between Nature and the Machine

The 2025 edition of ARE calls for an exploration of the relationship between organic and artificial realms, co-creation, and technological transformation in artistic practice. Researchers are invited to submit works that engage with ethical and aesthetic convergence, ecological and technological interactions, and new forms of expression.

Who can submit?
Postgraduate researchers affiliated with an academic institution, from any country and at any academic level. Applications from researchers outside FilmEU are highly encouraged.

Submission Guidelines
Works must be audiovisual or media-based and result from artistic research.
All works must be documented in a downloadable video format (mp4).
Works should be no older than two years.
Selected works will be exhibited both in person and online.

Submissions must include a 350-word abstract, a technical description (max. 100 words), and a link to the applicant’s CV.

Deadline: 16th March 2025
Notifications of acceptance: 28th March 2025

No fees are requested for submission.
