Call for Papers: AI in Film and the Audiovisual

The application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in film and audiovisual media has been growing in recent years. This includes the widespread adoption of AI tools for script writing, editing, post-production, among other creative tasks. Simultaneously, over-the-top services (OTT), distributed directly to viewers via the Internet, are particularly associated with a shift towards automation and personalization through algorithmic recommender systems. This volume aims at establishing state-of-the-art knowledge about the adoption, use and impact of artificial intelligence on the design, production, post-production and reception of audiovisual and film content. By collecting original research as well as practitioner statements/interviews from several continents, this volume invests in the decentralization of perspectives, covering European, Asian, African, North American and Latin American realities, seeking to be a reference in the study of the intersection of digital media, computer science, film and the audiovisual.

We therefore invite all colleagues interested to send in a proposal consisting of the following elements:

- Title and abstract of the proposal (max. 200 words);

- Name and institutional affiliation;
- Academic CV;

All chapter proposals will be kept confidential and all proposers will be contacted.
