2025 Report: Spanish Works on Subscription Video-on-Demand Services

The Audiovisual Diversity Research Group at Universidad Carlos III de 
Madrid (UC3M) has published its third annual report on the offering of 
Spanish works on Netflix, Prime Video, MAX, Disney+, Apple TV+, and 
SkyShowtime. The report analyzes both the evolution in the number and 
characteristics of the Spanish titles offered, as well as some of the 
mechanisms used to grant prominence to these works.

The study was conducted by Luis A. Albornoz, M.ª Trinidad García Leiva, 
Pedro Gallo, and Juan Ignacio Fernández-Herruzo, with the support of the 
University Institute for Spanish Cinema (IUCE-UC3M). It is part of the 
research project ‘Diversity and Audiovisual Subscription Video-on-Demand 
Services’ (PID2019-109639RB-I00), funded by the Spanish Ministry of 
Science, Innovation and Universities and the State Research Agency 
(MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033).
