*2025 CALL FOR PAPERS*

*The Twenty-Ninth Annual Conference of the Arab-US Association for Communication Educators (AUSACE)*

*October 25-27, 2025*

*Faculty of Media and Mass Communication, October 6 University, Egypt*

*Communication Innovation and Creativity in the Age of Technological Advancement *

*_The Conference’s Description: _*

While definitions of creativity may vary, it is mostly perceived as the ability to generate innovative and useful ideas, artifacts, or solutions to contemporary challenges. Therefore, creativity is highly recognized and appreciated in many disciplines and sectors, and it is seen as critical to innovation in the networked or digital world, as well as to twenty-first century skills and the future of employment. As a result, most worldwide educational policy and curricular texts list creativity as a desirable, if not required, talent. The focus on creativity has arisen in recent decades, coinciding with the digitization of education, the media, and society as a whole.

In parallel, digital media is in a continuous state of change at a time characterized by advancements in technology and connectivity. The phrase "digital media" refers to a wide range of content, including interactive experiences, videos, text, and photographs, all of which are made possible by digitally-enabledtechnology. Digital media's omnipresent effect has completely changed the way we perceive cultures, communicate, and absorb information. The proliferation of social media platforms, mobile devices, and the internet has sped up the distribution of content and created a space where everyone may act as both a content creator and a consumer simultaneously. This resulted in a complex information environment which affects many facets of our lives in the age of digital media and technological advancement.

Therefore, this conference aims to investigate the interplay between the concepts of communication innovation and creativity, as they manifest themselves in myriad ways through technology's multiple effects on the field of media, especially digital media, with all its pros and cons. On one hand, it tackles some of the pressing and unprecedented challenges which the media sector faces, ranging from the spread of misinformation and disinformation to the ethics of AI usage and the urgent need to bridge the gap between legislation and rapid digital transformations. On the other hand, it investigates how new technology-enabled applications and platforms are inviting new possibilities for social innovation, ranging from empowering a digital economy to enabling a tech-driven education and modifying the concept of "soft power" in an increasingly interconnected world.

The conference intends to bring together academic experts, media professionals and practitioners, as well as innovators and digital content creators to explore critical modern day challenges, such as the role of innovation in serving the preservation of human values, transforming digital challenges into opportunities to build more sustainable societies, the multiple effects of digital media on shaping the mindset of future generations, as well as how different types of media coverage are framing and reflecting ongoing crises in a variety of complex ways.
