This call is for the ‘Technology & Media’ Track of the two-part Livable Cities conference in Lisbon and Barcelona.


Aligned with the Livable Cities Series, 2025, the Instituto Universitário de Lisboa and the Universidad Ramon Llull – La Salle, Barcelona, are calling for papers on technology and medias in the city.

9-11 July, 2025 (Lisbon)
16-18 July, 2025 (Barcelona)

TRACK: TECHNOLOGY & MEDIA
Themes:

AI, smart cities, digital infrastructures, computational design, augmented and virtual realities, mobile apps, intelligent buildings, parametric urbanism, big data, GIS, building information modelling, digital accessibility, participatory technology, and more.

LISBON:   LIVABLE CITIES: Cities, Culture, People & Place
Interested in examining the city as a site of livability across times and places, this conference uses Lisbon as a point of departure for examining the varied issues at play when we think about livability for communities, cultures and people. The specific focus of this track is technology and media.

BARCELONA:   LIVABLE CITIES: The Urban Experience

Using the city of Barcelona as an example, this conference explores how cross-disciplinary readings of cities the world over shed light on how we live in cities. Special attention in this track is placed on question of technologies and new medias.
