An exciting opportunity has arisen to expand the Broadcast Production: TV and Radio teaching team within the University of the West of Scotland.

We are seeking applications from an experienced individual with a substantial track record of professional practice and teaching in the field of radio/audio production and development to join the School’s Division of Arts and Media.  BA (Hons) Broadcast Production: TV and Radio is part of the School of Business and Creative Industries and is accredited by Screenskills in recognition of our ability to develop industry-ready students. Students learn through modules taught by practitioners reflecting current industry ‘best practice’. Expertise across a range of interconnected disciplines is embedded across our range of creative industries programmes. This post will play a central role in our radio disciplines primarily contributing to our popular BA (Hons)/Broadcast Production : TV and Radi/o degree.

You will be joining us at a very exciting time in our development and would become part of a dedicated team who strive to continuously inspire our students and wider University community offering support and guidance – through modern teaching and impactful research, continue to deliver innovative solutions to some of the world’s biggest challenges.  You will have opportunities to help build the reputation and profile of our School as a leading contributor to the economic and social development of the communities in which we work as well as engage in exciting international opportunities.

The successful candidate should have the following:

·Experience of teaching digital production, particularly audio production skills, combined with excellent organisational skills An active profile within broadcasting and/or academic networks Skills, knowledge and experience to play a key role in teaching, research and commercial activity Strong practitioner profile in digital production, particularly in successful development and production of audio for broadcast and digital platforms, including conceptualising creative audio content and analysing how that content addresses audiences both theoretically and cognitively Commitment to delivering high quality teaching and supporting an outstanding student experience

You will be responsible for contributing to an excellent student experience by planning, developing and delivering an exciting curriculum utilising contemporary forms of pedagogy. You will produce excellent research or practice-based outputs commensurate with the stage of your career that will include radio or podcasting for broadcast or online distribution. You will be a highly motivated individual, passionate about your discipline and about contributing to the best possible student experience. You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to a successful academic career and be comfortable working both autonomously and within and across a range of teams.
