*XV Obitel International Seminar**,**November 16 to 19, 2020**- Online *
The OBITEL – Iberoamerican Observatory of Television Fiction - is an
international network created in 2005 and formed by
research groups from 11 countries:
Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, United States (hispanic
language), Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Uruguay and Venezuela.
Its objective is to trace the diagnosis and perspectives of television
fiction through annual monitoring and comparative,
quantitative and qualitative, analysis of the various formats of the
fiction genre, either on open television or on streaming platforms.
For this 2020 Yearbook, the theme of the year is /Melodrama in times of
streaming/. The intention is to identify, through the study
of the characters,themes and narrative plots of the melodrama that
circulate on open television and VoD platforms. As well how to analyze
the particularities of the melodramatic combinations in different genres
and cultural contexts in Ibero-American television fiction.
