The department of Communication and Media Studies seeks a full-time
tenure track Assistant Professor in Organizational Communication with an
emphasis in Intercultural Communication to begin in August 2020. The
teaching load is three courses per semester and successful candidates
will teach interpersonal, research methods, intercultural, public
speaking as well as other courses related to their expertise. Candidates
will also have the opportunity to teach in the University’s core
curriculum, particularly the First Year Seminar, on a topic of their
choice, or develop a course/s for the University’s forthcoming Social
Justice and Diversity requirement. Faculty also participate in student
advising.
Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to promoting
diversity, inclusion, and intercultural development in an educational
and work environment and be willing to contribute to diverse
representation in the curriculum as well as the inclusion efforts on campus.
The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Organizational Communication or
related discipline and provide clear evidence of excellence in
undergraduate teaching. Candidates should have an original, emerging
research agenda that shows promise of a successful publishing record. We
are particularly interested in applicants from underrepresented groups.

application, curriculum vitae, a list of at least three references,
evidence of teaching excellence, a statement of teaching philosophy, and
a sample of scholarly writing. Review of applications will begin on
September 15th and will continue until the position is filled.
The Communication and Media Studies department is made up of two majors:
Human Communication and Organizational Leadership and Critical
Communication and Media Studies and is housed in the College of
Communication. The faculty of the department are productive scholars
with a commitment to social justice and diversity in their courses,
scholarship and service.
